On the bright sunny day of June 10, 2012, South Jerz Riderz (SJR) hosted their 3rd annual charity for Small Steps in Speech (SSIS).  South Jerz Riderz is a motorcycle club in South Jersey who are committed to honoring and paying tribute to both active military, retired military, and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice such as SSG Marc J Small.  This year, was the biggest turn out in the eight years since they have been doing the charity rides where they raised over $6400.00 for Small Steps in Speech!! We even had four people who rode four hours one way from Gettysburg, PA to come out to the ride! SJR donates one hundred percent of the donations and money raised directly to SSIS, which demonstrates the type of club they are.

This year, SJR paired up with Nam Knights and The Women In the Wind, all three of the clubs were represented on June 10th.  The ride started at Barb’s Harley Davidson Shop in Mt. Ephraim and stopped at Cooper River where Ct. Bancroft attended with the Color Guard and a Bugler where they paid a wonderful tribute to military men and women, Gibbsboro American Legion and the Atco American Legion.  SSIS would also like to thank Paul McDermott, President of the Waterford Twp War Memorial Committee along with members of his committee and Judith Tapper, Gold Star Mother who also came out to the event to welcome the riders at the Atco American Legion.  It was an event full of fun, laughs, good weather and stories to share.

A huge thank you to South Jerz Riderz for choosing Small Steps in Speech and for inviting Women In the Wind and the Nam Knights who made this event such a success!
